Keynote address by Liz Lerman

What roles can art have in fields as diverse as faith, aging, particle physics, war-time medicine, and human rights law? What happens to our various fields of study and action when we collaborate across disciplines and domains? How does sharing these ideas sustain inquiry, innovation, and the emergence of new knowledge? How do artistic practices develop through choreography, concert, and community contribute to the way that artists can live in the world? In this talk, MacArthur Fellow, choreographer, writer, and educator Liz Lerman will tackle these questions, as she has over decades of dance-making about urgent real-life issues.

The keynote address is free and open to the public.

About Dancers in Company 2018
Dancers in Company 2018 will explore the theme of collective action and its relationship to sustainability. Collaborating with community and campus partners to better understand how a group of people share an intention, their performance will question, challenge, and inspire ideas about how we make things happen together, at times inviting collective participation in the performance (no dancing required!).
