In early 2020, illusionist Scott Silven was just beginning his worldwide tour when it was cut short by the spread of COVID-19.

A Message from Paul Brohan, Hancher’s Programming Director
The description of The Journey you have just read is lovely and gives a sense of this wonderful, innovative performance. But I wanted to take a moment to tell you about my experience participating in the performance.
I can’t emphasize enough how theatrical and immersive The Journey is. The performance is absolutely live and the limited number of viewers for each performance—and Silven’s interaction with them in real time—creates a shared experience that is all too rare in the world of online performances. The Journey is an event created for this kind of performance rather than an adaptation of a traditional performance for online viewing.
To say that The Journey will “captivate and astonish you” is, based on my experience, accurate—but believe me when I tell you it is also a significant understatement of the power of Silven’s performance. The Journey is a new kind of performance for a new kind of performance space and a unique moment in time. I hope you will join us.
