Ratboys:
Ratboys is an American indie rock band from Chicago formed in 2010 by Julia Steiner and Dave Sagan. The band consists of Julia Steiner (guitar, vocals), Dave Sagan (guitar), Marcus Nuccio (drums), and Sean Neumann (bass, vocals). Rolling Stone named GN, the band’s second record, one of the “15 Great Albums You Probably Didn’t Hear in 2017,” while Uproxx proclaimed the release one of the best albums of the year. The band’s third studio album, Printer’s Devil, was hailed by Pitchfork as “comforting and sobering all at once.” The band’s most recent album is 2021’s Happy Birthday, Ratboy.
Dos Santos:
Performing everything from jazz-tinged psychedelia to dissonant cumbia, Chicago-based quintet Dos Santos – celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2023 – is at the forefront of a new era of Latinx alternative music. Celebrated as one of Chicago's most important working bands, the members of Dos Santos pride themselves on the power of their live shows, as well as their ability to seamlessly distill progressive pan-Latin American musical sounds. Dos Santos’ most recent release, City of Mirrors, reflects the band’s unique identities, creative and cultural roots, and their penchant for honoring traditional Latinx music with contemporary composition and production techniques.
