John Moreland
Featuring Dave Moore
Part of Hancher's Infinite Dream festival
Rootsy, gruff-voiced, eloquent, questioning—a singer-songwriter explores life in the American heartland.
“These songs are all questions,” says John Moreland, who will perform a solo show for an up-close audience. “Everything I write is just trying to figure stuff out.”
What Moreland has undeniably figured out is how to write a song that speaks to the heart of his listeners. His musical elixir of Americana and alt-country is spiced with flavors of country, the blues, and rock-n-roll. With lyrics at once introspective and universal, Moreland invites everyone to join him as he pursues elusive answers to timeless questions.
“When someone revitalizes a genre as well-worn or as worn down as singer-songwriter confessionalism is, you just have to acknowledge and admire.” — NPR’s Fresh Air
This performance will be presented in a thrust configuration (seating on three sides); capacity is 226. All seating will be set up on the Hadley stage. This configuration is used primarily for daring, intimate, and immediate performance.
