Lucky Plush Productions
The Queue
Lucky Plush transforms the dull and passive act of waiting in an airport into a humorous and dynamic performance featuring dance, theater, and live music. Adapted from a 1746 farce, The Queue features a diverse group of travelers who discover unlikely links connecting them all to a dying man in Spain. Featuring music by The Claudettes, a neo-vaudevillian duo, The Queue blends slapstick comedy, Busby Berkeley-esque choreography, and contemporary dance to create a show worth waiting in line for.
This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from the Iowa Arts Council, the Crane Group and General Mills Foundation.
Hear The Claudettes in a free Club Hancher at The Mill performance on Wednesday, September 16 at 8 pm. |
Lucky Plush will be in residence September 14–18, working with UI classes in departments like dance, theatre, GWSS (Gender, Women's & Sexuality Studies), arts management, and rhetoric. They will also work with two ICCSD schools (junior high/high school).
