Hancher is introducing a new multidisciplinary festival — Infinite Dream — from Oct. 11 to 21, at various venues around Iowa City.
Through the lens of the arts, the festival explores the complex fabric of the American Story: grand accomplishments, disruptive failures and potential for excellence.

When I entered the University of Iowa’s Hancher Auditorium on Sunday evening, I paused at the empty rows, thinking the usher had sent me through the wrong door. As I continued, I saw everyone seated on the stage surrounded by a handful of chairs and music stands.
The 1,800-seat auditorium had somehow transformed into a black box theater. The concert was intimate and organic — the same words I’d use to describe the music of composer Caroline Shaw and the Attacca Quartet.

The National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) announced its new slate of Board officers for 2023. Andre Perry was elected as NIVA’s Board President, ushering in a new era of vision and performing arts prowess.
