Performers from the eleven countries that share the Nile River come together in a musical conversation designed to foster cross-cultural empathy and inspire environmental curiosity. A powerful pan-Nile percussion section underpins the collective, which features both traditional and contemporary instruments.

This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional contributions from Iowa Arts Council and General Mills Foundation.

The Nile Project will have a week long residency at the university, connecting with departments on themes such as sustainable development, social entrepreneurship, water issues, and climate change.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Paris Young in advance at (319) 467-4849 or at paris-sissel@uiowa.edu.
