A Conversation with Taylor Mac

Presented by the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies and Hancher

Jennifer Buckley will facilitate a conversation with Taylor Mac about Taylor's work as a playwright, director, actor, drag performer, and activist. It will focus on Taylor's newest piece, A 24-Decade History of Popular Music and the decade 1846-1856, titled Walt Whitman vs. Stephen Foster: Songs Popular Near Breaking Point.

Out of Bounds

Written by Jennifer Fawcett, Out of Bounds is play focused on the topic of cyber bullying. Tailored for grades 7 & 8, the play was developed through interviews with students, administrators, teachers, and parents.

Taylor Mac

For nearly two decades, Taylor Mac has created internationally award-winning performance events. A 24-Decade History of Popular Music is his most ambitious project to date. His look at 1846-1856 is a showdown between Walt Whitman and Stephen Foster.

Lucky Plush transforms the dull and passive act of waiting in an airport into a humorous and dynamic performance featuring dance, theater, and live music. The Queue blends slapstick comedy, Busby Berkeley-esque choreography, and contemporary dance.

Roseneath Theatre

Ten-year-old Roca leaves Colombia for North America clutching her suitcase, in which she believes her grandmother is hiding. In her new home with a new friend, the suitcase opens the way to an adventure.
